This Privacy Policy explains what information the Spoken English platform by Learning Links Foundation collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive basic account information such as your name and email address to identify you and create your teacher profile.
As you use the Platform, we collect learning data including module and activity progress, practice results, assessment attempts, and the short audio recordings you submit during practice and assessment activities.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and personalise the Platform: to authenticate you, display your students and curriculum, evaluate spoken English, generate feedback and scores, and track progress over time.
We may use aggregated, de-identified data to improve our content and learning experience.
3. Audio Recordings
Audio answers are recorded only when you choose to record, and are used to transcribe and evaluate spoken responses. Recordings are transmitted securely and processed to produce language feedback and CEFR-aligned scores.
4. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate the Platform — including our technology partner, Tryzent, and cloud infrastructure providers such as Amazon Web Services for secure storage and processing — under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.
5. Data Storage and Retention
Your data, including audio recordings, is stored on secure cloud infrastructure. We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Platform and meet legal or programme requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted connections and access controls to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data against unauthorised access.
7. Your Choices and Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable law and programme requirements. To make a request, contact Learning Links Foundation through your programme coordinator.
8. Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended for use by teachers and authorised staff. Where student data is processed, it is handled on behalf of the educational institution and used solely for learning and assessment purposes.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the Platform.
10. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, please contact Learning Links Foundation through your programme coordinator.
This document is provided for general informational purposes and does not constitute legal advice. Learning Links Foundation may update it from time to time; continued use of the platform means you accept the current version.
